The website does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or commercial profiles. Audience data are processed by this website and by the disclosed analytics provider solely for aggregate measurement and service improvement; they are not sold.

T1 editorial audience measurement

T1 remains off until the reader expressly accepts it. Only then is pt_audience_uid created: a first-party, random and meaningless identifier, kept for no more than 13 months and not automatically renewed. The server stores only a protected derivative grouped by day. It is used exclusively to estimate unique readers, readers who keep the page visible and focused for at least 10 seconds, and readers who return within 7 or 30 days. Rejecting or withdrawing consent prevents T1 collection and deletes that identifier.

Ahrefs Web Analytics without cookies

Ahrefs Web Analytics, provided by Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, measures page views and aggregate events without setting cookies or persistent identifiers. It receives the page and referrer URLs, user-agent and language information, and country or city inferred from the IP address; it may also record outbound-link clicks and the occurrence of form submissions. Ahrefs states that the raw IP address is discarded and combined with the user agent and a daily salt, deleted every 24 hours, to estimate daily unique visitors without tracking a person across devices, websites or days.

No individual reading history

The protected identifier is never stored beside page routes, names, email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers or full IP addresses. T1 reports only aggregate totals: there is no screen for browsing a person’s history and the identifier is never linked to a registered account. Daily pseudonymous rows are deleted after 90 days.

Necessary session cookies

pt_public_session lasts until the browser session ends and is created when an interactive function needs security or authentication. It stores only a random session identifier. Language and interface preferences may be remembered for up to 180 days.

Remember me

pt_reader_remember is optional, is set only when the reader selects “keep me signed in”, and lasts up to 90 days. It contains a random selector and validator, never the password. It is rotated when used and revoked on sign-out.

Other functional preferences

pt_cookie_notice remembers for up to 180 days that the first-layer choice has been completed. pt_t1_consent remembers the T1 acceptance or rejection and pt_ahrefs_optout remembers an Ahrefs exclusion, both for up to 13 months. The previous pt_audience_optout preference remains honoured for readers who used the earlier joint control. A local A/B/C preview preference may last one hour. A reaction already given to an article may be remembered for up to one year to avoid duplicate votes.

Control

There is no “accept all” wall. T1 and Ahrefs have separate controls below. T1 starts only after express acceptance and its consent can be withdrawn at any time. Ahrefs uses no cookies or persistent identifiers and can be excluded independently. The site also honours Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals for both systems. Every choice leaves all content available.
